What Walton County Rules Apply to Miramar Beach Shorelines?

Walton County permits work in Miramar Beach. Its planning guidance lists protected areas in South Walton, including coastal dune lake protection zones, a 25-foot buffer from any wetland, and a 50-foot area from the mean high water line of Choctawhatchee Bay and its basins, bayous, and tributaries. Clearing in those areas is prohibited and can bring fines and restoration costs. South of the bay, the county requires a building permit or development order before any land clearing or alteration.

That matters for repair access. Equipment, staging, and any vegetation work near a bay-front wall need to respect the 50-foot zone. Polyurethane injection helps because it works from small ports without excavating.
