Fort Myers Beach took the highest storm surge of Hurricane Ian. The National Hurricane Center found 10 to 15 feet of inundation above ground on Estero Island. A USGS sensor at the pier recorded 12.70 feet above MHHW. Most homes and businesses along the coast were damaged.
