A Fort Myers seawall that has started leaning or bowing, but whose panels are still sound, can usually be stabilized with helical tiebacks for far less than replacement, which matters most on natural riverfront where Lee County won't allow new wall.

Seawall Repairs by Solid Foundations provides seawall reinforcement in Fort Myers, FL for riverfront homeowners, HOAs, and commercial owners. Typical projects include helical tiebacks on Caloosahatchee walls pushed out of line by Ian, anchor replacement on older canal walls in McGregor and Iona, and anchors paired with void fill after the 2024 storms. When the wall is moving but whole:
Broken panels or a failed toe mean replacement. See bulkhead replacement in Fort Myers.

Because replacing isn't always an option. On natural waterbodies in unincorporated Lee County, new or expanded seawalls aren't allowed; an existing wall can only be maintained, repaired, or replaced in kind (Lee County Ord. 22-24). Keeping the wall you have in good structural shape protects a right that's hard to get back.
Ian's surge pushed the Fort Myers gauge to 7.26 feet above normal high tide in 2022 and reversed the river's flow. The fill behind riverfront walls filled with water; when the river dropped, that saturated soil leaned on the panels.
Charley in 2004 produced 3.4 to 3.6 feet of surge on Caloosahatchee gauges near Fort Myers (NHC Charley report). Helene and Milton each topped 5 feet at the Fort Myers gauge in 2024. Each event adds a little more movement.
Older walls rely on steel rods tied to buried deadmen. Years of brackish and salt water thin them.
Screw-plate steel anchors are drilled at an angle through the wall into firm soil and locked off at the face. See helical tiebacks.
Buried concrete anchors tied back with rods still work well on open lots.
A continuous beam on the wall face spreads anchor loads.
We often combine anchors with polyurethane void fill and relief drains.

Riverfront and canal lots vary, and we don't assume. Torque readings on each helical anchor confirm it has reached soil that can carry the load; where upper layers are weak, we go deeper or add anchors. If nearby structures are settling too, see marine foundation repair in Fort Myers.
We mark utilities, irrigation, and pool plumbing first. Then small work areas are opened at the wall, anchors are drilled through at an angle and advanced until they hit their target torque, and each one is locked off at the face with a plate or waler. Any voids found along the way are filled with foam before the holes are sealed. Most of your yard never sees equipment. On canal lots in unincorporated Lee County, reinforcing also keeps the wall on its existing line, which matters because the county limits any future replacement to the existing alignment and no more than one foot waterward.
We also reinforce seawalls in Cape Coral and Naples. See the Fort Myers seawall repair hub.
If the panels are intact, usually yes. Tiebacks can stop further movement, and acting sooner keeps more options available.
You may be able to replace it in kind, but in unincorporated Lee County you can't expand a wall on a natural waterbody. Reinforcing often costs about half as much.
The anchors run underground at an angle. We locate utilities and irrigation first and keep surface work to small areas.
Structural work generally does, through the City of Fort Myers or Lee County depending on the address.
