Most St. Pete canal owners do best with vinyl or composite sheet pile and a poured cap. It won't rust in Tampa Bay or Boca Ciega Bay water, and the cap can be finished to match your yard.
The city estimates about 95 miles of privately owned seawall within its limits, and Pinellas County says nearly half of its 588 miles of coastline is already hardened (City of St. Petersburg). That means your wall almost certainly connects to someone else's on each side. A good replacement plans those tie-ins carefully so water can't sneak around the ends, and it looks at neighboring cap heights before anyone orders material.
