If your Clearwater bulkhead is leaking soil or cracking but still stands upright, it can usually be sealed and stabilized in place for far less than a new wall.

Most of the time, yes. The deciding factor is whether the wall has moved. A straight wall with leaks is a repair; a wall that has rotated or broken through is a different conversation.
Things worth checking on a falling tide:
A few of these on an upright wall means we can probably fix it where it stands. If the wall is leaning hard or has holes through it, see bulkhead replacement in Clearwater.

Start with the ground. The City of Clearwater's neighborhood plan says Island Estates was created by dredge and fill during the 1950s and 1960s, and almost every lot there is waterfront (City of Clearwater). Sand and shell pumped into place stays put only while the wall in front of it stays sealed.
Then add the storms. Helene drove the Clearwater tide gauge to about 6.7 feet above the normal high-tide line in 2024, the highest the station had recorded since it began in 1973 and higher than the 1993 "Storm of the Century." After water that deep drains off a lot, it carries fine fill out through every seam it can find.
Finally, the tide itself. The average daily swing at Clearwater Beach is under three feet, but it happens twice a day, and each cycle flushes a little more soil through an open joint.
NCFI marine-grade polyurethane is injected through small ports into the soil behind the panels. It expands to fill cavities, binds the loose fill, and seals seams from the landward side. Your pavers, pool deck, and landscaping stay put.
Broken cap concrete is removed back to sound material, the reinforcing steel is treated, and new concrete is placed. Cracks are routed and sealed.
Soil soaked by summer storms pushes hard on a wall. Relief drains let that water out gradually so it stops forcing its way through joints.
| What your wall shows | What we usually suggest |
|---|---|
| Voids or sinkholes, wall plumb | Foam injection + seam sealing |
| Damaged cap, panels intact | Cap rebuild |
| Tilting a few inches | Anchors, see seawall reinforcement in Clearwater |
| Holes through panels or a failed toe | Replace that section |
| Failure along most of an old wall | Replace the wall |
If a repair will do, that's what we'll recommend.
Bulkhead repair in Clearwater typically costs $80โ$250 per linear foot for void fill and $800โ$2,500 per tieback anchor. Most residential repairs run $4,000โ$20,000. Stopping soil loss early keeps the bill in that range.
Minor upkeep often needs none. Structural seawall work in Clearwater goes through Pinellas County's Water & Navigation section, which permits seawalls in cities as well as unincorporated areas (Pinellas County). The City of Clearwater may also need to sign off. We handle both.
We also repair bulkheads in St. Petersburg and Tampa. For all of our local services, see seawall repair in Clearwater.
Not necessarily failing, but it's leaking. Surge and drawdown pulled fill through a weak seam. Keep off the spot and book an inspection before the void grows.
Yes. Injection needs only small holes, so we can usually work through or beside the deck rather than removing it.
Structural seawall repairs generally need a Water & Navigation permit. Routine maintenance may not. We confirm before starting.
Many void-fill and seam-sealing jobs take one or two days on site once any approvals are done.
